Do you think that the things people make fools of themselves about are any less real and true than the things they behave sensibly about? They are more true. They are the only things that are true.
— George Bernard Shaw

Tailgating large also requires a large amount of space.  After filling my garage from floor to ceiling, it was time to expand.  There were a few of us in a transition phase.  Two were moving and needed a place to store their stuff until settled.  Two owned classic vehicles and two owned motorcycles.  There was a great deal of stuff that needed storage, including one 1920's Brunswick pool table set.  Jason Hoke began a recruiting plan to find participants and a location.  We found the 2D Yonkers Rd.  Otherwise known as the Double D.

In the beginning, it was a place of storage.  In the end it became too heavy to carry.  The time in between, was a grand investment of money, time, and energy.  Much like building a sand castle, it was hard work, fun, and temporary.  Many of us would find it a great place to decompress, tinker, and vent.  We could be as rowdy as we wanted and not be worried about young ears or eyes.  We could play music or watch a big game on TV and yell and nobody would hear.  I called it my personal country club.  With more emphasis on country than club.

When you start to accumulate items to store, it becomes fun to integrate them into usage.  At its peak, we had a beer fridge, a bar (complete with bartender for parties), a pool table, 3 multicolored chandeliers, 2 swinging chairs attached to the rafters, 4 tvs including an original Zenith wide screen with the original Nintendo, a classic Ford Bronco, a classic Buick sedan, one Orange County chopper, one Fat Boy, one anniversary Soft Tail, 20 years of Playboy magazine, and a four piece rock and roll band "Dispense as Written".

There were several band parties, fantasy baseball drafts, birthday parties, and overnight cookouts.  Some called it ridiculous, obscene, and dirty.  That made me love it even more.  My desire to learn to graffiti with spray paint added to the trashy decor.  Expired beer smell became an issue at times.  The clean up was never pretty.  However it made for some spectacular pictures and memories.
